The IRCC gave away twice as much ITAs in the current month of June compared to the last three years’ giveaway in the month of June. The lowest record of ITAs given in the Month of June was 2016 at 2,287.
Express Entry manages the group of candidates for Canada’s three main economic immigration classes- the Canadian experience class, the Federal skilled trades and worker classes.
This surge can be attributed to the fact that the Canadian Government has a target of 81,400 immigrants to reach for the year of 2018 and has only covered a quarter of the target at 39,700.
Due to this, it is expected that there will be more frequent and bigger draws to at least match the targets set in the next 6 months.
It is also expected that the CRS scores will drop in result of these kind of frequent and huge draws as the pool will have less time to replenish. Now it remains to be seen what additional steps IRCC takes to achieve its goal by the end of the current year.
