A Study in Canada: Rise in Indian students opting for Canada results in faster student visa process.

IRCC has made accessing student visa easier and faster for students coming from India, China, Vietnam and Philippines. After UK governments’ decision to not include Indian students in their easier student visa processes and current Immigration Policy under Trump Presidency in US, applications for study permit in Canada has exponentially risen.

In 2015 and 2016, Chinese students were given maximum student visas. Indian students received 83,410 permits in 2017 which is a rise of over 58%.According to Canadian Bureau for International Education, an educational non-profit agency noted rise in international students at the end of 2017 with Chinese students taking lead, followed by Indian students and then South Korean.

This surge can be attributed to the fact that the Canadian Government has a target of 81,400 immigrants to reach for the year of 2018 and has only covered a quarter of the target at 39,700.

Students from India and all other three Asian countries are opting for SDS or Student Direct Stream program if they are able to prove eligibility by having proper financial resources and language skills to adapt in the country.

This program is very beneficial for students if they want to reside permanently in Canada as Canadian education attracts both extra points for the Express Entry Program and job prospects.
