The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
(IRCC) has reduced application deadline for Express Entry Permanent
Residence to 60 days. Previously, the deadline was of 90 days. This
deadline only applies to candidates who receive an Invitations To Apply
(ITA) after June 26, 2018.
The 60 day deadline was abandoned in November 2016 and has been revived back again to ensure faster processing of applications although the pressure to collect supporting documents doubles.
Applicants who received an ITA before June 26, 2018 do not have this revived deadline applicable to them.
Students from India and all other three Asian countries are opting for SDS or Student Direct Stream program if they are able to prove eligibility by having proper financial resources and language skills to adapt in the country.
Just a day before this announcement, the 12th Express Entry draw results came out with the CRS score dropping nine points to 442. CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System, ranks a score to applicants and the ones getting highest scores get ITAs.
After the invitation is received by the applicants they have to send in their supporting documents and submit their e-APR or complete electronic application so as to authenticate their profiles. Applicants have to send in all of this in the time frame of 60 calendar days.
